North Devon Gang Show

Welcome to the North Devon Gang Show. For 45 years, our show has brought together Scouts, Guides, volunteers, families, and local audiences for an uplifting mix of music, theatre, and community spirit. Whether you’re eight or eighty, new to Scouting or simply curious, there’s a place for you in our story.

What is a “Gang Show”?

A Gang Show is a lively variety production created and performed by members of the Scouting and Guiding movement. Every show blends songs, sketches, dancing, and plenty of laughter. What makes a Gang Show special is the teamwork behind it — young people and adults working side by side, learning new skills, growing in confidence, and
having fun along the way.

It’s entertainment with heart. A chance to shine. And a celebration of what people can achieve when they come together.

Where It All Began

The tradition started back in 1932, when Ralph Reader produced the very first Gang Show in London. What began as a small fundraising idea grew into a nationwide and eventually worldwide tradition that has been enjoyed for more than 90 years.

Keeping the Tradition Alive in North Devon

Here in North Devon, we’re proud to be part of that legacy. Over the past four and a half decades, our Gang Show has welcomed generations of performers and volunteers — some stepping onto a stage for the very first time, others returning year after year to share their love of the show.

Today, the North Devon Gang Show remains a friendly, inclusive, and creative space for people of all ages. Whether you want to perform, help behind the scenes, or simply enjoy the show from the audience, we’re delighted to have you with us.
